WHY DONATE TO UPRIVER VILLAGE?

UpRiver Village membership dues provide most of the support (a little less than 80%) for Village operations, programs and services that help our members remain living in their homes as long as possible. We also greatly appreciate donations for general use or for specific purposes such as volunteer background checks, scholarships for low-income members (we are especially in need of this funding), etc. All donations are tax-deductible. You may designate your donation in memory of or in honor of another person.

We are sometimes asked, "Why do I need to pay a membership fee or donate if all of your services are provided by volunteers?" Membership fees and donations cover the costs necessary to run any organization like background checks, liability insurance, printing (a big expense for a new Village!) and copying, mailing, database and website fees, payments to our fiscal sponsor and the national Village to Village Network, etc.

To donate by check, please make your check out to Villages NW FBO UpRiver Village. The FBO (for the benefit of) notation is critical for funds to be credited to UpRiver Village instead of Villages NW, our fiscal sponsor. Also note "For UpRiver Village" on the "Memo" or "For" line. Mail check to:
