UpRiver Village is now offering several social and educational activities each month plus filling service requests from our members. Prospective members will be interviewed prior to joining to assure that UpRiver Village can provide volunteer services to meet the member’s needs and expectations.
Households that are within the city limits of our service area of Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village, but have Portland mailing addresses, will be eligible for membership. Households that are in unincorporated Multnomah County and have mailing addresses in Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village are also eligible for membership.
Seniors living outside the UpRiver Village service area described above may volunteer and attend social activities that are open to the public, but will not be eligible to receive services.
UpRiver Village will offer the ability to upgrade from a Regular Membership to a Premium Membership for a maximum period of two months once a year. This can be used when a member needs a greater number of services, but only for a short time after a hospital stay or another incapacitating event.
The UpRiver Village Steering Council looked at the average membership fees of the ten existing Villages NW Villages and also at the most common membership fees and set our membership fees in between these two numbers.
UpRiver Village will offer a limited number of member scholarships to low-income seniors based on a formula established by Villages NW. Applications are available now. We offer a 50% membership subsidy to individuals with an income of $39,125 or less, or a two-person household income of $52,875 or less. We offer an 80% subsidy to individuals with an income of $23,475 or less, or a two-person household with an income of $31,725 or less.Prospective members self-certify and do not need to provide proof of income. Gross income can be adjusted for medical expenses. UpRiver Village must limit the number of subsidized memberships to 10% of our total memberships.
Membership fees are non-refundable with very few exceptions. All refunds must be approved by the UpRiver Village Council.
