The days are getting warmer, which means many of us may have the desire to travel. At times, it can be overwhelming to plan accordingly, especially if we have certain physical limitations. However, there are many places that offer accommodations so you can enjoy your vacation time. Stay tuned for ideas on where to travel and some helpful tips.

Whether we are traveling in-state or internationally, it's always a great idea to begin planning early. Take some time to narrow down things you may need during your trip. This could include accessibility aids such as a cane or a mobility scooter. Take note of other things that could make your experience easier, such as having a room on the ground floor, having elevator access, choosing a place with support bars and wide doors for wheelchairs. To request these accommodations, we can contact places directly or use their websites.

It's also a good idea to keep track of all the medications we take and ask our healthcare professionals if there are any vaccines we should have before traveling internationally.

Now onto some traveling ideas:

Australia

With accessible attractions and public transportation, Australia is a great place to visit if you enjoy nature and adventure. Some popular cities include Sydney, Melbourne, and Cairns.

Germany

Germany is a great, accessible, and affordable place to visit. It offers beautiful scenery, culture, and extensive history. Their public transportation system is considered to be very affordable and easy to use. Some popular cities to visit include Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg.

Japan

Japan is a great place to visit if we are interested in learning about culture. It offers both modern and traditional experiences. These experiences can include learning about fashion, traditional tea ceremonies, visiting shrines, and more. Popular places to visit include Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

Portugal

For an affordable and relaxing travel experience, Portugal is a great choice. It offers great scenic views and a friendly welcome.

Cruises

Cruises are a great option for passive travel. This form of traveling removes the stress of planning everyday activities, as cruises have pre planned stops. There are cruises available for multiple places around the globe, and they are often accessible.

Oregon

Our beautiful state has many wonderful places to visit as well. Some popular places include Crater Lake, Mt Hood, the Coast, Multnomah Falls, and many more. There are many fun things to do as well, such as wine tasting, nature exploring, trying different cuisines, and more. No matter what age we are, Oregon has something for everyone.

Safe and Happy Travels, Everyone!
